MK Ultra

MK Ultra was the codename for a series of illegal human experimentation programmes designed and undertaken by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) during the Cold War era.

These programmes aimed to develop methods of mind control and were initially conceived by the military in the 1940s to discover a "truth serum" for use in espionage and interrogation of prisoners of war (POWs). The scope of MK Ultra expanded to include biochemical research, toxicity studies, biometrics, and even the weaponisation of black magic, sorcery, Buddhism, and the occult.

The justification for MK Ultra was often presented under the guise of national security, with claims that the Soviet Union was pioneering mind control techniques using drugs, which Western intelligence later admitted was an exaggeration used to foster and fund these operations. Richard Helms, who served as Director of Central Intelligence, is reported to have destroyed most of the documents related to these projects in 1972, leaving approximately 130 boxes of files to be discovered later.

Key Figures and Institutions

Numerous individuals and institutions were involved in the clandestine operations of MK Ultra:

  • Dr. John C. Lilly was a prominent figure known for his experiments in mind control, including attempts to programme dolphins with lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). Lilly’s research extended to implanting electrodes in animals in the 1940s and 1950s. He conceived of the human brain as a "biological computer" that could be programmed and reprogrammed, and his work included administering LSD to human subjects to manipulate their self-perception, induce the inability to recognise faces, and explore altered states of consciousness. His experiments on children included attempts to wipe their brains and implement triggers and key codes. Subjects undergoing his experiments often reported experiencing apparitions, demons, spirits, and entities from beyond, which Lilly noted seemed to align with pagan religious descriptions.
  • Dr. Ewan Cameron of McGill University in Canada, conducted "psychic driving" experiments involving sleep deprivation, electroshock therapy, and "deep patterning". These methods operated on the assumption that the human mind was a "Tabula Rasa" that could be "rebooted".
  • Dr. Louis Jolyon West was associated with various notable figures and events. He accepted a position at the Haight Ashbury Clinic to recruit subjects for LSD research, and his early career included studying human behaviour control at Cornell University. He assisted in deprogramming POWs from the Korean War and conducted experiments on unwitting subjects using LSD and hypnosis. West examined Jack Ruby, the assassin of Lee Harvey Oswald, after the JFK assassination, reporting that Ruby suffered an "acute psychotic break". He was also linked to experiments involving LSD on elephants. West predicted the rise of dangerous groups led by hypnotists who could induce violent criminality in their followers, with subjects having no memory of their actions. His alleged involvement in the "Midnight Climax" operation implicated him in blackmailing individuals.
  • Dr Sidney Gottlieb was central to the creation of mind-controlled assassins through projects like Operation Spellbinder. He worked closely with Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in the production of LSD and focused on experimentation with "human expendables" for biowarfare purposes.
  • L Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, and Aleister Crowley, the infamous occultist, were both linked to military intelligence, with Crowley serving as a British intelligence asset during World War I.
  • Michael Aquino authored "From Psywar to Mind War," a document outlining psychological warfare doctrine and the weaponisation of the occult.
  • Gregory Bateson contributed to cybernetics research, connecting it to the transition from biowarfare to technological control.
  • Walter Bowart, author of the 1978 book "Operation Mind Control," is credited as the first to use the term "cryptocracy" to describe the Deep State. He noted that, contrary to Cold War propaganda, the West, particularly the CIA, pioneered the extensive use of drugs in mind control programmes, rather than the Soviets or Chinese. Bowart suggested that Richard Condon's novel The Manchurian Candidate served as a blueprint for subsequent real-world hypnotically programmed assassins.

Several institutions were directly involved:

  • The Tavistock Institute in the UK, supported by a Rockefeller Foundation grant, was instrumental in early psychological warfare, group dynamics, and mind control research, providing a foundation for MK Ultra.
  • McGill University was a significant hub for MK Ultra experiments.
  • Sandoz Pharmaceuticals produced vast quantities of LSD for CIA experimentation.
  • The Ford Foundation and Macy's Foundation, alongside JP Morgan bankers, funded research into entheogens and truth serums.
  • The Human Ecology Fund and other front organisations were used by the CIA to run experiments, including those on prisoners at the Vacaville medical facility, which involved mass drugging of "angry young men".
  • The New York Psychiatric InstituteFort Bragg, and Edgewood Chemical Warfare Laboratories were sites where servicemen volunteers were administered LSD.
  • The National Institute of Mental Health (NIM), initially funding amphetamine research that led to aggressive behaviour in rats, was also revealed to be a CIA front for LSD research.
  • The RAND Corporation conducted studies on drugs, LSD, hypnosis, and the implantation of false memories.

Key Operations and Programmes

MK Ultra encompassed numerous projects, each with specific objectives:

  • Subproject 68 focused on electroshock, sleep deprivation, and "deep patterning" to "reboot" the human mind.
  • Subproject 3 involved sexual entrapment, as seen in "Midnight Climax," where the CIA used prostitution houses to test LSD on unwitting individuals, a practice revealed in a 1975 Senate investigation.
  • Third Chance and Derby Hat were Army projects where servicemen volunteers were given LSD at Fort Bragg and Edgewood Arsenal.
  • MK Delta programmes dealt with the interrogation of suspected foreign agents in CIA safe houses and occupied war zones, and included an "assassination programming level".
  • Operation Mindbender in Mexico City involved undercover hypnotherapists and drugs to determine if victims could be influenced to become mind-controlled assassins through specific trigger words.
  • MK Search, later renamed MKNAOMI, focused on biowarfare agents at Fort Detrick and included experiments on faking suicides and assassinations using toxic substances. MK Naomi also referred to a subproject involving occult practices and satanic ritual abuse.
  • Operation Big City in 1953 involved testing the effects of LSD sprayed as a gas over confined urban areas, such as San Francisco.
  • Operation Resurrection at the Allen Memorial Institute involved experimenting with RF frequencies on apes and animals to induce violent behaviour.
  • Operation Spellbinder was another effort to create mind-controlled assassins, considered more successful than Operation Mindbender, though its full extent remains unknown due to destroyed documentation.
  • Subproject 142 and Subproject 94 explored electric brain stimulation and implants, aiming to create agents who could act as unconscious receivers and emitters of information.
  • The Phoenix Programme was a CIA initiative to create serial killers in Vietnam to terrorise the Viet Cong, a model later mirrored domestically in the U.S..
  • Operation Often involved sorcery, black magic, sex magic, and sexual entrapment, aiming to weaponise the occult.
  • Project Stargate and Remote Viewing were related projects that sought to harness psychic abilities, often linked to the Stanford Research Institute.

Mind Control Techniques and Effects

MK Ultra techniques aimed at fragmenting the human psyche and controlling behaviour:

  • Dissociation and Multiple Personality Disorder (DID/MPD) were central to MK Ultra, deliberately induced through severe trauma, such as ritual abuse or physical torture. These disorders could be purposefully created to manipulate the mind into multiple personalities for various roles, including robotic assassins.
  • Trauma-Based Mind Control involved repetitive and extreme physical, psychological, and sexual abuse, especially during early childhood, to cause dissociation. This technique involved specific triggers and hypnosis to evoke alter personalities.
  • Hypnosis was used for deprogramming, influencing victims, and creating assassins. It could induce temporary amnesia and Fugue states.
  • Psychoactive Drugs played a critical role. LSD was explored for truth serum purposes but was found to induce religious conversion-like experiences or dissociative states. Amphetamines were observed to trigger violent behaviour.
  • Sleep Deprivation and Electroshock Therapy were employed to re-imprint the human mind, often in combination with drugs.
  • Programming involved using specific triggers, key codes, images, and mirrors to manipulate self-perception and even induce conditions like the inability to recognise faces.
  • Levels of Programming were conceptualised, often assigned letters of the Greek alphabet:
    • Alpha represented general mind control, augmented memory, and the splitting of the mind into left and right brain divisions.
    • Beta programming focused on sexuality and the destruction of moral inhibitions.
    • Gamma provided system protection through deception and misdirection.
    • Delta was the assassination programming level.
    • Theta was described as the "psychic killer" level.
    • Omega programming dictated self-destruction, intended to cause the subject to commit suicide when interrogated or undergoing therapy.
  • Psychotronic/Psionic Weapons used electromagnetic (EMF) and very low frequency (VLF) signals to agitate or calm large regions. Remote viewing was also explored as a psychic weapon.

The overarching aim was the deconstruction of created reality, including philosophy, truth, ethics, and even gender, viewing the world as a "giant test tube" for social engineering and control rather than liberation.

Real-World Events and Intelligence Connections

MK Ultra's reach extended into various real-world events, suggesting intelligence manipulation:

  • The Charles Manson murders are posited to be linked to MK Ultra, intelligence operations, and drugs. The popular "Helter Skelter" race war motive is suggested to have been contrived. Reeve Whitson, a suspected CIA operative, may have been involved in manipulating the crime scene and crafting the official narrative with prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi. Manson himself was considered a "mechanical boy" or "victim of the state," exhibiting odd personality shifts during his trial, suggesting programming.
  • The JFK assassination and subsequent events, including Jack Ruby's psychotic break and Sirhan Sirhan's dissociated state, are linked to Monarch programming and MK Ultra, suggesting the creation of "useful tools" or "mechanical boys" for planned assassinations.
  • The UFO phenomenon is considered to have ties to MK Ultra, with drugs potentially used to induce alien encounters for manipulation. A 1960 Brookings Institute NASA paper proposed using UFO "arrival" scenarios to discredit Christianity.
  • The drug culture of the 1960s is believed to have been manipulated and spiritually compromised by intelligence agencies, often promoting spiritual experiences connected to demonic entities.
  • The rise of serial killers is theorised by Dave McGowan to be a domestic reflection of the Phoenix Program, a CIA initiative that created psychos in Vietnam. These narratives were allegedly crafted by the media to terrorise the public and serve the objectives of the technocracy. Figures like Henry Lee Lucas and David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) are cited as examples of individuals with cult and intelligence ties.
  • Mass shootings and hoax events are viewed as a mix of mind control, false flags, and deliberate hoaxes, used to create a public perception that "nothing's real" and to justify federal intervention.
  • Sandy Hook should be examined with skepticism regarding the official narrative, linking it to "planned communities," UN initiatives (like Agenda 21), and gentrification as tools of the "New World Order".
  • Colour Revolutions are identified as a CIA strategy for nonviolent coups and regime change, employing agitation propaganda and exploiting social tensions, as seen in Tibet, Georgia, and Ukraine.
  • The Coney 2012 campaign is seen as a fabricated warlord figure created to justify US military expansion (Africom) and secure access to Rare Earth minerals in Africa. Jason Russell's public breakdown is cited as a possible instance of MK Ultra.
  • Pop stars and celebrities are believed to be potential CIA/MI6 assets, often recruited through talent spotting in colleges, fraternities, and sororities, serving as a boost to their egos and aiding government agendas.
  • Government propaganda films from the 1980s, such as StripesTop GunNavy Seals, and Red Dawn, served as recruitment tools and promoted Cold War narratives.
  • September 11th Attacks is characterised as a "mass mind-controlled trauma event" that caused a "psychic rift" in the national consciousness.
  • The concept of cryptocracy describes the deep state's institutionalised secrecy, with figures like Wild Bill Donovan (founder of the OSS) and FDR linked to its origins.
  • Domestic surveillance, including early computer analysis and profiling, was extensively applied, as seen in the intense surveillance of the Manson family.
  • POW narratives were intentionally exaggerated by the Pentagon during the Cold War to justify military build-up, and the term "brainwashing" was coined by the CIA to attribute such activities to "the Reds".
  • Psychological warfare involved creating "an atmosphere of paranoia and fear" and conditioning viewers through media narratives, akin to a form of trauma to mass consciousness.
  • The "bio food war" is identified as a significant weapon in this overall control mechanism, with corporate meal systems being linked to detrimental effects on the population.

Ethical Implications and Philosophy

MK Ultra and its associated ideologies raise numerous ethical and philosophical questions:

  • The programmes embodied a dehumanising view of individuals, treating the human mind as merely a "biological computer" to be rebooted.
  • A pervasive amorality characterised the scientists and intelligence operatives involved, with a focus on achieving goals "regardless of the human casualties".
  • There was a deliberate blurring of the lines between scientific evidence and interpretation, often presenting interpretations as objective facts.
  • Paradigm and belief systems were acknowledged as powerful forces in shaping individuals' interpretation of experiences, with techniques used to manipulate these.
  • Normative fiction and predictive programming were identified as methods through which concepts, even unlikely ones, were popularised and made acceptable to the public by repeated fictionalisation.
  • The concept of the multiverse is controversially described as a "supernatural realm for atheists," a means for materialists to embrace mysticism.
  • A broader agenda of deconstruction of created reality, including philosophy, truth, ethics, and even fundamental concepts like gender, is observed as a feverish rebellion.
  • The world itself was viewed as a "giant test tube" or "laboratory" for large-scale social experimentation.
  • Social engineering was consistently aimed at control, not liberation, often by manipulating people into thinking they were pursuing freedom.
  • The deliberate use of demoralisation tactics, as seen in certain literature, was intended to foster pessimism and a sense of futility in fighting against a perceived New World Order.
  • The primary means of control in Hollywood and society is understood to be money, with compliance ensured by financial incentives and career opportunities.
  • Despite the pervasive nature of these manipulations, it is deemed important to confront the truth rather than deny it.
