Evil itself is not a co-equal force to good but rather the privation of God's uncreated energies, akin to cold being the absence of heat. The origins of evil are found not in human sin but in this primordial angelic rebellion.

#### The Genesis of Demonic Enmity

Satan's fall was fundamentally rooted in envy. The angelic realm, or aeon, witnessed a cosmic injustice in Satan's eyes: humanity was destined to be raised through the Incarnation to a status that would even outrank angels.

This prospect ignited a profound rage and envy in Satan and his followers, initiating an eternal war against human nature. For demons, every human being serves as an icon of the Logos, intensifying their hatred and their desire to destroy mankind. This inherent hostility is why humanity is destined to judge even the angels.

#### Biblical Presence and Manifestations

The presence of malicious spirits and demons is not a later invention but is richly documented throughout the Old Testament. Satan appears in Genesis, his fall hinted at in prophetic texts such as Ezekiel and Isaiah. He is depicted in various forms, including the serpent in the Garden of Eden, possibly a seraphim. References to "goat devils," "satyrs," "fiery serpents," and cherubim are common. The Book of Daniel reveals spiritual battles between angels and fallen entities, such as the Prince of Persia (Daniel 10).

Historically, the placement of seventy nations under fallen angelic rulership is understood to be the root cause of universal idolatry. This demonic influence manifested in abhorrent practices including human sacrifice, pedeophillia, Homosexuality, temple prostitution, and cannibalism.

The Apocalypse, in particular, draws extensively from Old Testament imagery to describe the demonic realm. In the New Testament, accounts of demonic possession are frequent, with Christ himself likening demons to unclean animals. Ultimately, the figure of the Antichrist is understood to be a human individual perfectly possessed by Satan himself. The tragic instances of suicide recorded in scripture, such as those of Saul and Judas, are consistently linked to demonic influence.

#### Demonic Activities and Influence

Demons are masters of deception, constantly attempting to mimic God and draw humanity away from true worship.

Their "deals" are always detrimental, ultimately leading to the loss of one's soul. Satan is a liar, deceiver, murderer, accuser, and tempter, constantly employing spiritual psychological operations to sow confusion and derail spiritual progress. They propagate lies, encouraging doubt in divine commands by framing God as a selfish oppressor and promising liberation through disobedience.

Their deceptive promises often include false paths to escaping death, whether through hedonistic pleasures, esoteric Gnostic wisdom, or the siren call of Transhumanism. Significantly, demonic influence is deeply intertwined with the promotion of [[Homosexuality]], transgenderism, and other aberrant sexual practices, aligning with a broader agenda to dismantle traditional gender roles and the nuclear family.

Furthermore, demons are actively involved in creating heresies and false teachings, including scientism, Gnosticism, Humanism, Luciferianism, Transhumanism, and New Age doctrines. They infiltrate and manipulate cults and their leaders, using power and deception to influence individuals.

Their ultimate goal is to lead people into idolatry, broadly defined as worshipping anything created more than the Creator. It is believed that demons can even feed off the energy generated through vice and human sacrifice.

Demons use human weaknesses, specifically - our passions - to enslave us, thereby controlling us. This spiritual enslavement is designed to make humanity more like demons, ultimately shutting them out from the presence and love of God.

Pride, the root of Satan's own downfall, is considered the fundamental source of all sin, continuously instigated by demonic forces.

The demonic agenda seeks the dissolution of all boundaries: national, human/machine, human/animal, and male/female. This eradication of distinctions is a direct assault on the human psyche and the ability to logically apprehend reality, rendering humanity malleable to external control. Humanity for them is merely a "plastic" substance, capable of being moulded into any desired future entity.

A significant aspect of their strategy is a geopolitical agenda aiming for a world government, collectivism, and a global hive mind. This grand design is likely to be facilitated by a narrative of extraterrestrial entities, who will are be demonic. They also actively deceive humanity about the true power of the Church, fostering fear and isolation to deter spiritual growth and evangelism.

#### Overcoming Demonic Influence

The victory over demonic forces was achieved through the Cross, specifically Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Through the harrowing of Hades, Christ preached the gospel even to the dead, making salvation universally available. The Church, empowered by Christ's Ascension, has been granted the authority to confront and overcome demonic influence across nations, continuing to convert peoples and perform exorcisms. The Ascension of Christ signifies His ongoing reign and the Church's bestowed power over demons.

Spiritual growth involves a continuous battle against our passions. The effective antidote to Sin is not mere intellectual knowledge but the cultivation of opposing virtues.

This process necessitates the reintegration of human faculties, where the mind and intellect are subordinated to a repentant heart, which then rightly guides the body.

This spiritual journey is not a solitary endeavour but requires active participation within the Church, including engaging in its liturgy, partaking in confession, and seeking guidance from a spiritual father.

Acts such as fasting, good works, prayer, and receiving the Eucharist are deifying practices that empower individuals to resist temptations.

This is a lifelong process of "spiritual rehab," as everyone struggles with some form of addiction.

Humility, non-judgmental attitudes towards others, and regular self-examination are essential practices for navigating this spiritual warfare. Discernment, fostered through faithfulness to scripture and tradition, is vital for recognising false teachings and the deceptive influence of the Antichrist.
