COVID-19 Pandemic

Impact on Borders and Immigration
A glaring inconsistency in pandemic policy emerged at the nation's borders. While US citizens were forced to show their vaccine papers to go to a restaurant, literally millions of illegal immigrants were let into the country with no proof of vaccination or frankly proof of anything else. This created a perplexing situation where individuals were allowed to come in without a COVID vaccination, even as 8,500 of US citizens in the military were removed for refusing vaccination. This policy choice was deeply rooted in a desire for "new constituents", as the prevailing political agenda did not appeal to the majority of the population. The historic surge of people illegally crossing the border since the start of Biden's tenure saw numbers the highest in decades (estimated 10.5m illegal immigrants).
Influence on Electoral Processes
The pandemic had a profound and controversial influence on the 2020 election, fundamentally altering the "rules of the game". The "COVID period" was, in fact, exploited by the far left to rig elections and gain permanent majorities. This involved a significant shift towards "voting by mail" to an unprecedented "degree and type". This change allowed people to "vote from the couch", effectively "removing any aspect of like consideration on the part of the voter".
Furthermore, these new rules facilitated the widespread use of "ballot harvesting networks", particularly in urban areas with high population concentrations. These networks were highly effective due to practical reasons, such as the ease of ballot harvesting in apartment complexes compared to rural areas, and crucially, because "law enforcement and judicial systems in those areas are completely captured" and would not "bust anyone for this". The confluence of union politics and teachers' unions in these areas created a "perfect recipe" for exploiting these altered electoral mechanics, leading to what is widely believed to be the permanent entrenchment of these changes.
Presidential Pardons
One of Biden's last actions was to pardon Anthony Fauci, which was an odd thing to do for someone who was supposedly "a hero", but there are numerous controversies surrounding Fauci's role during the pandemic:
• Misleading statements on vaccine efficacy and transmission: He initially stated that if vaccinated, one would not need to worry about serious infection or transmitting the virus, declaring "full stop" that vaccinated people had an "extremely low" risk of transmission. This was later contradicted when "almost everybody who got vaccinated got covid", and Pfizer executives testified that they had not even tested the vaccine for transmission prevention.
• Mask mandates: Fauci first acknowledged that wearing a mask "might make people feel a little bit better" and only worked "at the margins, maybe 10%". He later contradicted this, advocating for mandatory masking and stating he himself wore two masks.
• Herd immunity numbers: He repeatedly moved the goalposts for herd immunity, starting at 50% vaccinated and progressively increasing the target to 60-70% and then 80%, basing these numbers on polling rather than solely medical authority.
• School closures and lockdowns: Despite later claiming he "didn't recommend locking anything down," a video shows him explicitly stating, "I recommended to the president that we shut the country down". The long-term negative impact of school closures on children's mental health was acknowledged by the US Surgeon General, contradicting Fauci's claim that it hadn't "forever irreparably damaged anyone".
• Gain of function research: Fauci denied that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) had ever funded "gain of function" research at the Wuhan Institute. This denial is considered a "big lie," as the NIH later acknowledged funding research on a bat coronavirus that was studied at the Wuhan Institute, where experiments "unexpectedly... made a bat Corona virus more contagious than the original naturally occurring one". Such research, which increases a virus's transmissibility to humans, is precisely what is termed gain of function.
